The Only Woman in the Room

The Only Woman in the Room

This is an exciting fascinating story of a famous, beautiful actress in the U.S. Her stage and movie name was Hedy Lamar and she acted in productions with Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, Judy Garland and Lana Turner. Her actual name was Hedy Kiesler, who was born in Austria and of Jewish descent.

Lamar’s beauty saved her from the rising Nazi Party and led to a marriage to an Austrian arms dealer. While at an event she was attending with her husband she heard of the Third Reich plans to join her husband’s business. This brave woman came up with a plan to escape. After much intrigue and dangerous close calls she landed in America in Hollywood where she continued her acting career. More shocking than Lamar’s shocking heritage, previous marriage; she was a scientist. She knew secrets about the enemy and used it to make a scientific devise that was used in the war. This device was patented in 1942 giving her the success she desired more than her acting career. Quite a surprising enjoyable book!
