Hi, I’m Linda

Welcome to my blog, Love, Linda Jo. You’ll find stories of our life on the mission field, resources for pastors, & some life lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Jesus' Ways: Submissive to the father God

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways”. Isaiah 55:8

So what are Jesus’ ways which he learned from the Father God?
They were Submissive to the Father God.
They were Passionate for the Father God.
    They were Compassionate toward others.

This is an observation of nine ways Jesus was submissive to his Father God.

1. Jesus deliberately arranged times of solitude with his Father God. The disciple Mark writes about him going away while it was still dark to pray in early morning. He submitted his day to his Father

2. Jesus submitted the towns he would visit and disciples he would choose to his Father.

3. Jesus taught what the Father wanted and when. He was courageous to speak against the evil hearts of the Pharisees . Often he changed the subject of a conversation based on what the Father told him was the real need of the person. He speaks of loving your enemies and praying for those who persecute you so we will be sons of our Father in heaven.

4. Jesus kept appointments his Father had lined up for him. He sent his disciples to town and met the Samaritan woman at the well.

5. Jesus submitted himself to God’s timing to die when the Pharisees and rulers were going to kill him. He walked through the crowd and disappeared to an unknown place.

6. Jesus submitted his Will to the Father’s Will at Gethsemane. He knew he would have to drink of the cup of wrath but qualified his request with “Not my will, but yours be done”

7. Jesus submitted himself to the Father when he went before Pilate,
not defending himself , allowing soldiers to whip him and crown
of thorns to be put on his head.

8. Jesus submitted himself to the Father when they nailed him to the cross knowing he could call a legion of angels to defend him.

9. Jesus submitted himself to the Father by forgiving and praying for offenders saying, “Father forgive them they do not know what they are doing”
There was intimacy between Christ and the Father. There is intimacy that Christ wants with us, just like He has with the Father.
