Linda's List: Father to the Fatherless: The Charles Mulli Story by Paul Boge

Linda's List: Father to the Fatherless: The Charles Mulli Story by Paul Boge

This is a true story of a man who was abandoned by his parents in Kenya. He was only 6 years old and had to beg from hut to hut searching for food. When his father was drunk, he would severely beat Charles and his mother.

As a teen, Charles was invited to a Christian crusade by a friend where he gives his life to Christ. That experience leads to a unique adventure of faith miracles and a passion for reaching street children. After years of struggle, Charles experiences great success in business. Some years later, he realizes he must sell all that he has to take in street children.

This is a very well written book with graphic verbal pictures of the setting, events, and descriptions of emotions. However, it is a difficult book to read! The abandonment, beatings, hunger, rejection, and embarrassment for a child so young breaks your heart. I ask myself the question, “How can a child be so severely beaten, watch his mother beaten numerous times and forgive his father?”

Only through the Cross of Christ!
