Hi, I’m Linda

Welcome to my blog, Love, Linda Jo. You’ll find stories of our life on the mission field, resources for pastors, & some life lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Learning New Things

At 83 years I look forward to learning new skills, reading and hearing new information and ideas. Still reading the number of books for my age yearly helps me with this. Yielding driving in traffic to the younger family members keeps me more calm and I am satisfied to wait for a ride.

The new skill I am working on is hand quilting appliqué. For years I have wanted to make a “Dresden Plate” pattern and learn the correct way to appliqué it on to the background. This new skill can also be practiced on a baby quilt for my 8th great grandchild that was born recently.

Tulsa, my new hometown has provided me with new neighborhood, book club, and church friends. The two TU granddaughters bring their friends from campus to visit and I experience a different generation.

Actually, “New Things” is not that unusual for me. I am renewing my passport this week and observed 8 trips to Kenya, trip to Europe and Costa Rica in last 10 years.

Prayer for me—
“Open my eyes Lord so I can see what you want for me each new day”
