Hi, I’m Linda

Welcome to my blog, Love, Linda Jo. You’ll find stories of our life on the mission field, resources for pastors, & some life lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Advent Series- JOY

Usually this candle is called The Shepherds Candle: emphasizing the joy of finding Christ and sharing this joy with others.

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby ….An Angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them. The Angel said to them, I bring you good news of great joy that shall be for all people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. A great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests. “

-Luke 2: 8-14

The Shepherds:
-Knew the scriptures and expected the Messiah
-Had spiritual ears to hear when the angels spoke to them
-Gave a truthful excited report to the  people after seeing Christ the Messiah

What is JOY?
Is joy the same as happiness? Probably, there will be some happiness mixed in with joy; yet joy is more constant when the source is Christ in your life. Jesus is the author of contentment.

These Shepherds were joyful about finding Christ the savior- the Messiah! They were equally excited about telling others of their experience.

At this beautiful Christmas celebration time, my desire is that I will be that excited to tell others of my faith and joy in Christ.
