Advent: The Coming of Christ’s Light to the World

The advent wreath is a circular garland of evergreen branches representing eternity. On that wreath, five candles are usually arranged. Three are purple for Hope, Love, and Peace, with a pink one for Joy. The primary candle in the center is white for Christ the focus and subject of the Christmas celebration.
